I bought a Korg nanoKontrol recently but I couldn’t stand the way it looked. There was too much going on. I like midi controllers with a minimalistic style. It helps my brain think of them as adaptable DAW tools. It doesn’t seem like much, but painting over the original design has made using it a little easier for me. All the weird segments and demarcations are made to help the users mind separate the faders into channels, but since I don’t usually use hardware as the manufacturer recommends, the design is a mental hurdle. If you’re thinking of using the nanoKontrol, I would suggest looking into Native Kontrol’s nanoliveII. It makes it waaay more functional. :)
